Presentation: Docker Intro and Overview
If you ask “What is Docker?” to five people, you’re likely to get five different answers. Why? Well, it’s because Docker has done so many things to help revolutionize software development and deployment. But, what is Docker doing today?
In this session, we’re going to dive into that exact question. The short answer is that Docker is focused on helping development teams focus more on innovation by leveraging containers throughout the pre-deployment stages of the SDLC.
In this talk, we’ll start with the basics of containers and then dive into many ways Docker helps with the definition and setup of local development environments, running integration with ephemeral and real services, and then preparing a secure containerized application for production.
There’ll be something new in this presentation for seasoned developers, while still accessible to everyone!
