Developer Preview Program
Join the program to test future releases and help shape Docker’s product roadmap
About the program
The Docker Developer Program was set up to enable Docker users to get early access to unreleased features of our products and interact with the Docker team to help shape and improve the experience of millions of Docker users around the world.
-
Do you use Docker on a daily basis?
-
Do you want to have access to features in development, months before they become mainstream?
-
Do you have a high tolerance for occasional functional regressions?
-
Are you looking for an easy but very impactful way to help Docker and its millions of users?
If you have answered yes to all of these questions, we would love to have you apply 🙂
What are the benefits of joining the program?
As a member of this group we will be working with you to have an exclusive first look at our newest features and experiment with them.
You will get direct access to the people who are building our products everyday: our engineering team, product managers, community leads etc…
Through the program’s private Slack channel, you’ll get to share your feedback, tell us what is working in our new features and how we could improve, and also help us dig in when something’s really buggy.
Most importantly, you will have a chance to feed directly into our product roadmap and help us come up with ideas of what we should do next.
Oh, and of course, top contributors in the program receive some really cool swag!
What specific tasks are expected from me if I join?
First and foremost, you will be asked to join our private Slack channel where all program members meet to share, discuss and get updates on new tasks to perform.
Then you’ll be expected to run the Dev Preview build of Docker Desktop and help us investigate on private builds when we are working on particular issues of features.
We need you to commit to always be running the latest version of the Dev Preview Build of Desktop and update on day one, so we make sure we get early feedback.
We may also need you to stress test all of our new features and tell us what goes wrong. You might even work directly with the engineering team to help us debug issues and get to the bottom of things. We aren’t after people who want to ‘fire and forget’ a Github issue, we want to partner with you to find and test solutions to these problems and get them shipped to millions of other users.
Lastly, you will be strongly encouraged to join our monthly engineering briefings on Zoom.
