GrubHub Enables Continuous Delivery with Docker

Background

GrubHub is a food delivery company. Their goal is to connect hungry people with local restaurants.

Challenges

GrubHub has several data center located all across the country. Because of this, they wanted the ability to scale t0 multiple data centers, without having a single point of failure. They needed a platform that would enable the entire application development process. All the way from laptops, into pre prod, and finally into prod.

Solution

The company turned to Docker. Docker containers helped by allowing for automated, continuous and safe deployments. Today, GrubHub can deploy 61 times in just a 4 hour span.
